About Dr. Bettner

Dr. Bettner has been in private practice for over 35 years working with individuals, couples, teenagers, children, social workers, educators, counselors and therapists. She is currently a master trainer for Wise Edu Plus in Shanghai, China.

She has given talks, courses, and workshops for thousands of professionals, parent groups, educational in-service training, couples, and the workplace, She trains graduate students to facilitate parent education groups in schools and communities, as well as advanced training in Adlerian psychology.

She was the Director of the Family Education Center for the Springfield School District in Springfield, PA for 25 years. She developed and taught parenting programs for Community College of Philadelphia, PA, Neumann University in Aston, PA, and Holy family University in Newtown, PA. These programs were for two parent families, singe parents, foster parents, and for adults who work with children. The courses were designed to help adults understand behavior, learn the art of encouragement, improve communication, and deal effectively with conflicts within homes, classrooms, at work, and in groups.

Her presentations in clinical, couple, education, and parenting courses, and workshops have been in the United States and in Puerto Rico,  Russia,  Estonia,  Portugal,  Wales,  India,  Israel,  Turkey,  China  and  Taiwan.

Dr. Bettner has been a faculty member of the International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools & Institute since 1990 presenting courses in: Ireland,  England,  Canada,   Czech Republic,  Malta,  Holland,  Austria,  Germany,  Lithuania,  Netherlands,  Switzerland, Hungary,  and  Slovakia.

Presenter for the Young Presidents Org. in Austria, Portugal, New York and Pennsylvania Presenter for the World Presidents Organization in Pennsylvania.

She was a contributing Column Editor for the Journal of Individual Psychology (1999 to 2016), and has served on the staff of the International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes since 1990.

She is a member of the American Counseling Association, The North American Society of Adlerian Psychology, and The International Association of Marriage and Family Counseling.
